Terminal tables

In SAP, there are many display transactions that prepare data in table-like constructions, but whose cells are not directly addressable by column name and row.

Create text table step (with display variants):

  1. If necessary, position the recording bar at the desired location. See also Test Case – Editing / Position recording bar.
  2. Click on the recording bar and select the “Terminal table” function in the function menu.
  3. The table step is displayed in the recording.
  4. Edit the table step with the “Edit step” button.
  5. Click the “Change current display” button in the SAP window.
  6. Display the technical field names in the current display variant using the context menu of the table or “CTRL+SHIFT+F6”.
  7. Press the “+Column” button.
  8. Accept the technical field name as the column name, select the desired operation and add the fixed value or variable name.
  9. Add additional columns with the “+Column” button, additional rows with the “+Row” button.
  10. Confirm the entries with the “Apply” button.

Remark:
Access via key columns is possible for text tables in the same way as for standard SAP tables. For more information, see Test Case – Automation of SAP-Tables / Table step – Control via key columns.
Table variables can also be used as data sources in text table steps. For more information, see Test Case – Automation of SAP-Tables / Table step – Table variable as data source.
