Table step – Control via key column

In order to identify a row/value of a table not via the row number but via certain selection criteria, the suxxesso Test Pilot offers the possibility of a control via key columns.

  1. Edit the table step with the button “Edit step”.
  2. Select from the drop down menu “Determine rows with …” “Key columns – xxx”.Selection options:
    • Key columns – First match: searches for the first row that matches the key criteria.
Key columns – Last match: searches for the last row that matches the key criteria.
Key columns – Unique match: searches for the row that matches the key criteria and checks if the row is unique
Key columns – All matches: searches all rows that match the criteria
Key columns – No match: checks if no row matches the key criteria
  3. Click on the “+Key column” button.
  4. Now click in your active SAP window on the table column that you want to use as a key column and confirm the entry in the dialog window with the “Insert” button.
  5. The key column is now added in the table step and can be recognized by a key symbol.
  6. Select the operator for the key value from the drop-down menu (e.g. Is value, Is variable, …) and enter a comparison value (variable or fixed value) that contains the relevant key.
  7. Repeat steps 3 – 6 for all key columns you need to access the table. For successful access across multiple key columns, all conditions must be met.
  8. For all other fields in the table step, also select the desired action with the respective variable or fixed value.
  9. Confirm the entries with the “Apply” button.

Remark:
If you want to define a key column for a table step during recording, pause the suxxesso Test Pilot after recording the step and make the necessary changes.
The screen scaling must be set to 100% to ensure a smooth control of the elements in the SAP window during the “live detection” (the red frame).
During the selection of the key value, it is automatically outlined in red in the SAP window. It is possible that this border appears for several fields of the column or differs from your current selection. By clicking on the relevant column, your selection will nevertheless be correctly applied.
