Settings – Connections
Connections and their roles are necessary,
- to be able to open SAP sessions directly from the suxxesso Tool Suite
- to enable the selection of test data with the suxxesso Data Manager.
The following actions are possible in relation to connections:
- add manually
- import from SAP logon
- change
- remove
- add role to connection
Add connection:
- Click on the “Add” button.
- Enter a connection name and enter the required SAP server information and/or the url for the Fiori launchpad.
- Optionally add DataManager role or other roles to the connection. See also subitem “Create role for connection”.
- Save the entries.
Import connections from SAP logon:
The server information for connections can also be imported from the SAP logon. The basis for this import are those XML files that are listed as “Loaded files” in the SAP Logon under “Options / Options for SAP Logon / Configuration files”.
- Click on the “Import connections from SAP Logon” button. The selected connections will be imported automatically.
- Optionally enter the DataManager role or other roles for the connections. See also subitem “Create role for connection”.
- Save the changes.
Change connection:
- Click on the connection in the list.
- Enter the changes.
- Save the changes.
Remove connection:
- Click the remove icon next to the connection in the list.
- Save the changes.
Create role for connection:
Behind a role is a real SAP user with its authorizations for the SAP system. Roles are necessary to perform workflow and authorization tests.
- Click on the button “Add role”.
- Enter the name for the role, client, user name and password.
- Save the entries.
Role “DataManager”:
The role name “DataManager” is permanently assigned and cannot be deleted. The suxxesso Data Manager uses the logon data of this role and the SAP server information for read access to the database to select test data.
- Enter client, user name and password.
- Optionally, use the “Check connection” button to check successful access to the system via the entered logon data.
- Save the entries.
Remark:
The passwords for the various logon data are stored in encrypted form and cannot be read by unauthorized persons.
Open SAP session via role:
Use the “Open New Session” button (to the right of the role) to open an SAP session (SAP GUI and/or Web) with the credentials entered.
Remove role:
The “Remove” button (to the right of the role) can be used to delete a role.
