Extract text

1. If necessary, position the recording bar at the desired location. See also Test Case – Editing / Position recording bar.
2. Click on the recording bar and select the “Extract text” function in the function menu.
3. Enter the variable that you want to extract.
4. There are 2 ways to extract text:
   • Evaluate
   • Split by character position
5. The current values of the specified variables are displayed below.
6. Confirm your entries with the “Add” button.
7. Use the button “Reset to ‘….'” (next to “Evaluate”) for resetting the combination of values and variables.

SEvalute a variable:

Enter the desired combination of values and variable(s) under “Evaluate”:

• Use the button to the left of the parameter to define whether it is a value or a variable.
• Additional parameters can be added using the “Add” button (next to “Evaluate”).
• To conveniently add a variable to the evaluation, select a character string in the text of the variable that is being evaluated and click on the “Assign “xxxx” to a variable” button that appears.
  

Split by character position:

Split the variable at a specific position and enter the variable(s) that you want to obtain after extraction.
